Local Priorities Violence against women and girls Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Last week PCSO's on High visibility patrols targeted Camden Lock as they know that it is an area frequented by a local resident who is a Registered Sex Offender (RSO). They were aware that was wanted by police for failing to notify a change of address within 3 days and as such they were proactively looking for him.

He was located and detained by the PCSO's and PC's from the Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) attended and arrested the male.

This arrest while relatively simple on the face of it demonstrates how important it is to have local officers who know the local area as well as the local people, we will continue to actively target those who commit violence against women and girls as well as those who are unlawfully at large.
